Eclipse Tag: Thanks, Arabella!

Hey everyone!

Well, usually I don’t post this often, but I guess this week is the exception! This morning I opened up my laptop and saw that I had been nominated for the Eclipse Tag by Arabella (Thoughts of a Fangirl). Here we go!

Getty Villa Museum (with Syd and Blake)

Hi there!

Well, we’re off on another field trip! Have you ever heard of the Getty Museum in LA? Well, today we went on a field trip to the Getty villa, which is another museum owned by the Gettys. It’s located in Malibu (the city, not my cat ūüėČ ), and has a STUNNING ocean view! The Getty Villa is a recreation of an ancient villa in Rome. There’s gardens everywhere and it’s SO BEAUTIFUL!! Of course, I had to go shopping in Santa Monica too, but, well… yeah.¬† Here are some of my pics. Syd, from The Weekly Adventurer, and Blake from My Adventure¬†came with me and took lots of great photos too! Check out their websites to see them!

Anyways, here you go!

Andddd…. yep. I got photobombed.

Have you ever been here? What did you think of it? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!

More Beach Art/ Recent Photography

Hey there!

Happy Spring Equinox! Even though technically it’s been winter up until today, it hasn’t felt like it here. Today we went down to Salt Creek beach to work on some art. Salt Creek is the next beach over from Strands (if you saw my last post), and it’s a great beach for surfing and just relaxing. Even though I just worked on a couple quick paintings, it was great because I had a little extra time to test out my new camera (yay!!). Of course, the first thing I did when I got it was go around and take pictures of everything! ¬†Here are a few pics from the beach today as well as some of my (random) recent photography…

Hope you enjoyed my art and photography (random as it may be :p)! What adventures have you been on this week? Let me know in the comments!

Art Classes at Strands Beach

Hey everyone!

Today we went to Strands beach, in Dana Point, where I took an art class with some other homeschoolers. Even though it wasn’t very sunny today, it was still lots of fun and something I’ve been wanting to do for a while. Strands is a nice, sandy beach surrounded by cliffs, and it was beautiful to paint. Have you ever painted at the beach before? How did it work out for you? Let me know in the comments.

Here’s a pic from today:

Tidepooling at Laguna Beach

 Hi everyone!!

One of the many perks of being homeschooled is the super flexible schedule. We decided to go tide pooling at Heisler Park, one of my favorite beaches nearby. I was amazed to see an octopus, multiple live abalone, beautiful sea anemone, and more. This was one of my favorite field trips I’ve taken. I definitely recommend Heisler Park beach for tide pooling, or if you just feel like having a beach day. What are your favorite tide pooling spots? What animals have you seen? Let me know in the comments! ¬†Check out more pictures of this field trip and many others in my¬†portfolio.

These pictures will also be posted on my friend Sydney’s blog. She is a good friend of mine and was with me when I took these photos.

Here’s a link to her website, The Weekly Adventurer:

This is a baby bat star. It was only about as big as a golf ball. So cute, right? ‚̧
